NCSoft Introduces 3v3 Arenas in Throne and Liberty

NCSoft has introduced an exciting new feature in Throne and Liberty: the 3v3 arenas. The update brings an engaging and competitive mode where players can battle against others from different servers. Here's a breakdown of what you can expect from these new arenas.

Entering the Arena

To access the 3v3 arenas, open the main menu and select the arena option. This feature offers three different modes: General Match, Ranked Match, and Friendly Match. General and Ranked matches allow solo or party participation, while Friendly matches require inviting another party for a challenge. Remember, cross-server battles are possible in all modes.

Arena Maps

Matches take place in two maps: Battlefield of Challenges and Twisted Lab. The map is chosen randomly each time you enter a match. Once all six players accept the match, the arena begins with the teams marked in blue and red.

Winning the Match

To win, a team must reach 200 points within a 5-minute time limit. Points are earned by defeating opponents, with the score depending on the number of battlefield tokens the defeated player holds. Each player starts with two tokens, losing one upon death and gaining one upon defeating an enemy. Tokens ensure you always have at least one to continue the battle.

Strategic Elements

Every 30 seconds, the team's total token count contributes to their score, emphasizing strategic gameplay. Near the end, a "Plunder Mode" activates, allowing players to steal all tokens from defeated opponents, potentially turning the tide of battle. If no team reaches 200 points by the end, the team with the higher score wins. In case of a tie, the team with the most kills wins.

Special Rules and Buffs

During matches, only food, healing stones, and mana recovery potions are allowed, with a special purifying elixir also available. After 30 seconds, three buffs appear in the respawn area, providing strategic advantages to players who interact with them. Be aware that players who leave the match early face penalties.

Ranking System

The arena features a four-tier ranking system: Trainee, Elite Soldier, Officer, and Grand General. To achieve Grand General status, players must rank in the top 100 with a score over 2200. Ranked matches have specific matchmaking criteria to ensure balanced gameplay, including restrictions on weapon overlaps and rank disparities within teams.
