Blue Protocol Set for Console Release in Japan with Notable Changes

The highly anticipated MMO RPG, Blue Protocol, is set to make its console debut in Japan on December 13th, launching on both PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. This release marks a significant milestone for the game, which has previously been available only on PC. The console version will introduce several notable changes and features, adapting the game for a new audience and platform.

Cross-Platform Play and Cross-Save Functionality

One of the key features of Blue Protocol's console release is its cross-platform capability, allowing players to seamlessly transition between PC and console gaming. Additionally, the game will support cross-save functionality, enabling players to maintain their progress across different platforms. This feature is particularly significant, considering the game's free-to-play model, which does not require a PlayStation Plus or Xbox Game Pass subscription.

Content Rating and Age Restrictions

Blue Protocol's console version has been assigned a ZD rating, indicating it is suitable for players aged 17 and up. This rating is slightly higher than other popular MMO RPGs like Final Fantasy 14 and Genshin Impact, which have received a Cero C rating for players 15 and older. The higher age rating reflects the game's content and the developers' commitment to providing an immersive and mature gaming experience.

Version-Specific Modifications

In adapting Blue Protocol for consoles, certain changes have been implemented. Notably, the "physics jiggle" button in the Character Creator and Beauty Salon has been removed from both PlayStation and Xbox versions. Furthermore, the PlayStation 5 version introduces specific changes concerning the depiction of smaller characters. Regardless of the selected option during character creation, only one underwear design will be displayed for small characters. Additionally, all small characters, whether player-controlled or NPCs, will feature this single underwear design. Moreover, the PlayStation version will not include the sale of underwear.

Another significant change pertains to the offerings in campaign events, which may vary between platforms. These modifications have been attributed to meeting certain rating standards and console restrictions in Japan.

Implications for the Global Audience

While the initial release is confined to Japan, there is speculation about a potential simultaneous PC and console launch for the global version of Blue Protocol. The game's expansion to consoles is expected to attract a substantial number of new players, broadening its community and impact in the MMO RPG genre.

With these changes and the upcoming console release, Blue Protocol is poised to offer a unique and engaging experience to both existing fans and newcomers to the game.
