Blue Protocol December Update: New Defense Battle Mode and More

The much-anticipated December update for Blue Protocol is set to bring a thrilling array of new features and quality of life improvements to the game. Central to this update is the introduction of the Defense Battle mode, along with enhancements in game visuals and the addition of new missions and areas.

Introducing Defense Battle Mode

The headline feature of the December update is the new Defense Battle mode. Set in Aster, the main city in Blue Protocol, players are tasked with protecting an Ingram wall from waves of enemies. This mode requires players to strategize and cooperate, as they defend against the onslaught within a given timeframe. Success hinges on the wall's integrity, challenging players to maintain its durability above 0%.

Defense Battle is designed for up to 18 players, working together in a cooperative setting. The mode is structured into phases, each with distinct characteristics:

  • Normal Phase: Standard enemy attacks.
  • Intense Phase: Enemies become more aggressive and stronger.
  • Rest Phase: No new enemy reinforcements, allowing players to regroup.
  • Boss Phase: A powerful boss joins the attack, marking the final challenge.

The game's user interface is also updated to reflect this new mode, displaying the wall's durability, number of enemies, and the status of enemy gates and enhancement devices. These gates and devices play a crucial role, as gates are the spawn points for enemies, and devices empower them on the field.

Enemy Dynamics and Rewards

Blue Protocol's Defense Battle mode introduces varied enemy types, each with their own behaviors. Soldiers attack players directly, Commandos prioritize the wall but switch to players upon taking damage, and Shock Troops focus on the wall. The boss, appearing in the last phase, slowly advances towards the wall and its defeat ensures immediate victory.

Upon successful defense, players are presented with a results screen, highlighting individual contributions. Rewards are distributed based on these performances, adding an extra layer of competition and cooperation among players.

Visual and Gameplay Improvements

Addressing a long-standing issue, the update brings a significant improvement to the game's visual effects. Players will now have the option to adjust effect levels, reducing the opacity of effects for better visibility. This solution offers a balanced approach between completely turning off effects and maintaining the game's visual appeal.

Additional Updates and Events

Beyond the Defense Battle mode, the December update enriches the game with new missions, field areas, and exciting clothing options, including Japanese-styled outfits. A new Lion Mount and various emotes are also added, obtainable through the gasha system.

Additionally, a standard monthly event and a special login bonus event are slated, offering rewards like glasses, hats, and a beauty salon ticket.
